Five nights at freddy's 5th birthday party....

I know... I know... Five nights at freddy's aren't exactly the characters you'd expect a 4 or 5 year old would like. My son however is obsessed with these ugly looking characters.
He has been watching their music videos and such for a couple months now. Therefore, his birthday party theme this year was obviously Five nights at freddy's. I opted to do it friendly and not scary with the "nightmare" version.

For you mommas, who have kids obsessed with these characters. Here are some ideas for your theme party.

We held the party at a local park. Set up tents, ice coolers, tables and chairs.

Invitations...
I like to be simple when it comes to invitations. I send out a custom made invitation through text messages or make an event on Facebook. (Most our family and friends are on there) When I say custom invitation, I mean custom made by me. 😁

Food...
Since the characters like to eat pizza & Fred Bear Fazbear works at a pizzeria. (Or something) The main course was pizza. For sides we opted for regular side salad.
I stored the salads in individual plastic containers. Our guests were able to easily grab what they chose and store what they didn't eat.
Similar containers to what I used can be found here.

I got the idea for these gift bags from Pinkpaperglitz etsy shop. If you're not feeling crafty, you can order them here.

I made our own version. I got the bags from Michaels. Printed the characters faces, cut & paste onto the bags.
Final product of the gift bags.

Piñata was purchased locally. We filled it with candies.

Table cloths were the dollar tree colored table cloths to represent the colors of each character.

Custom Five nights at freddy's ballons are from etsy. Found here.

Cake is from Albertson's bakery. I love their cakes. I just take a picture of what we want and they make it for us.

My son's outfit consisted of jeans, button shirt. & a bow tie to resemble the characters. Since his birthday is close to Halloween, we enjoy doing costume parties for the kids to enjoy themselves. & to make use of the expensive costumes. Amirite? We got him the Freddy glasses since we couldn't find the actual characters costume in his size.

Thank you for reading about this fun party and feel free to share what fun  party themes you have done.

I hope you all had an amazing Halloween, here are our costumes for Halloween 2017. I was myself, a tired mom. Daddy was a clown, or I should say he was also being himself.  (Insert laughing face) I'm joking. My sweetie was Captain America. (Now he's into superheroes).

Xoxo,
Carla

Getting comfortable in my own skin...

This year I will be turning 30!!! Where and how that happened? I have no idea,,, What I do know, is that it has taken me a very long time to accept myself.  As a matter of fact, I'm currently still working on it.  Through the years I have struggled with learning to love myself.  Never completely content with my appearance.  Whether it was my teeth, face, features, body.  You name it!  In the past I have even contemplated getting surgery. What stopped me? The money of course! As well as the scary stories told by friends.  Which often times they hear from others.  Postpartum, I suffered from weight gain.  It took me years to loose the weight.  Even then, my body is not perfect.  Does that define me? Do my looks define me? Of course NOT! I know that; However that doesn't change the fact that I obsess over my weight, and constantly weigh myself. My point with all this rambling is, that it's never too late to learn to LOVE ...

Play! By Sephora September box...

This is a really late post/review for my Play! By Sephora box. I apologize but I have been swamped. School & life have been getting in the way. Adulting... amirite?(insert side eye) My first box arrived September 16. The second box arrived October 17. (I will be uploading the October box in a separate post) September box review: I was excited to open it, even though it's not an actual mystery box. (I also saw many posts spoiling the box contents) My favorite product is the perfume sample (of course, since I'm currently obsessed with perfume samples) check my searching for the perfect scent post here . The Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumnizing Fiber Gel is also something fun for me to try. Since my eyebrows are light & thin. This is definitely a product I could be interested on in the future. All in all, I was content with the box. Although I'm starting to think that I may only keep the subscription for 2 more months. I'm not entirely sure yet. We shal...

Florals for spring, groundbreaking!

Spring break means spring has arrived. (& that my son got a week off from school) <help!> T o celebrate and to get some much needed adult time, I went out for dinner with friends.  I also wanted to secretly take my new purse "out to town".  I mean, what better way to complete an outfit, than with a "spring-y" bag.   I paired this beautiful  top with jeans and nude ankle strap low block heels. (Also, I previously wore this top for my son's 5th birthday party ). The top can be worn off the shoulders or as a loser relaxed shoulder style. (As previously worn) It features bell sleeves and is a perfect transitional top. These shoes are slowly becoming one of my fave pair. I'm a big fan of the ankle strap heel look, and the fact that these have a low block heel make me very happy!  I also love that the heel features a cork look. Yellow is such a fun color for spring.  It will brighten up your look and day.  My top is a ...
