Fall must haves without breaking bank...

Fall is coming.... The time to update our wardrobes is now. The fun thing about trends is that like a train, they always come back around.  While I like a good trend, I don't like breaking bank. I've mentioned before about being a savvy shopper.  I like to find pieces of clothing that I will be able to wear even after the fad ends.  So I have compiled a few pieces that can definitely give any one's closet a fresh look and still keep up with the seasons trends.

For Fall 2017 we can expect to see more gold and glitter outfits.  Pieces that will remind us how much we love our beds and a good night sleep. Velvet is back from last Fall.  Patchwork will also be making it's comeback.  Amongst other pieces such as over sized coats, fringe and tassels.

I have expressed before my love for poshmark.  These wonderful pieces can be found there.

First let me start with the gold pieces. These looks will help you shine brighter than ever.  How amazing is this top with cuffs!?!? Paired with a great pair of jeans, you can be ready for dinner with friends.  It's definitely a conversation starter.  Can also be a great addition to an outfit for date night (if you want to be the star of the show at the movie theatre).  Huge shout out to Jade from ornamental stone. Most of these fabulous pieces came from her poshmark closet. Check the rest of her closet here.  You can also view her blog here.

Have an office party or work event you will be attending? Maybe a holiday party or even an outfit for NYE! This gold set is everything and more.  Best thing is that it's a skirt set. Both pieces can be worn together or separate to make multiple outfits.

This skirt is the perfect example of trendy pieces that can be worn easily in every day lives.  Sleepwear inspired pieces are fun.  But for me it is not realistic to leave my house with a slip or a quilted poncho, (as mentioned on Cosmopolitan article linked below).  Not only is it gold but it is quilted!

Top is from Beckar00 poshmark closet and can be found here.  Chic & versatile. I can picture myself with that top in a variety of outfits.
Barney's quilted skirt and Calvin Klein booties are found here and here.
The skirt is $10 so if you love it as much as I do, get on over to poshmark and buy it!

Glitter skirt for a night out.  All eyes will be on you, when you walk into the party with this glitter bomb skirt.

Shown here paired with velvet booties found here. Crop top is from Ornamentalstone' s closet. Can be found here. Coat is also from ornamentalstone closet, but is no longer available because I scored it for $4!!!! It has gold embroidery and fringe detail. Love at first sight! Check her closet often as she lists different items,  and you might score like me!

Patchwork jean jacket. A vintage jacket with flannel patchwork that can be worn easily with a simple tee and jeans. You'll never look more flawless and on trend while dropping off the kids at school or running errands.  I'd definitely wear this outfit to class. This vintage patchwork jacket can be found on Chrissy's poshmark closet-Somethingxgood. Check out her closet here. She has a variety of items listed.

Tops: Volcom crew neck tees.  These are bundled in a set of 2 and can be found here on msoutherland's poshmark closet. Jeans are from ornamentalstone closet and can be found here.  White converse can also be found on poshmark. The inspiration for this post came from an article from Cosmo featuring falls fashion trends for 2017.  Check it out here.

Getting comfortable in my own skin...

This year I will be turning 30!!! Where and how that happened? I have no idea,,, What I do know, is that it has taken me a very long time to accept myself.  As a matter of fact, I'm currently still working on it.  Through the years I have struggled with learning to love myself.  Never completely content with my appearance.  Whether it was my teeth, face, features, body.  You name it!  In the past I have even contemplated getting surgery. What stopped me? The money of course! As well as the scary stories told by friends.  Which often times they hear from others.  Postpartum, I suffered from weight gain.  It took me years to loose the weight.  Even then, my body is not perfect.  Does that define me? Do my looks define me? Of course NOT! I know that; However that doesn't change the fact that I obsess over my weight, and constantly weigh myself. My point with all this rambling is, that it's never too late to learn to LOVE ...

Play! By Sephora September box...

This is a really late post/review for my Play! By Sephora box. I apologize but I have been swamped. School & life have been getting in the way. Adulting... amirite?(insert side eye) My first box arrived September 16. The second box arrived October 17. (I will be uploading the October box in a separate post) September box review: I was excited to open it, even though it's not an actual mystery box. (I also saw many posts spoiling the box contents) My favorite product is the perfume sample (of course, since I'm currently obsessed with perfume samples) check my searching for the perfect scent post here . The Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumnizing Fiber Gel is also something fun for me to try. Since my eyebrows are light & thin. This is definitely a product I could be interested on in the future. All in all, I was content with the box. Although I'm starting to think that I may only keep the subscription for 2 more months. I'm not entirely sure yet. We shal...

Florals for spring, groundbreaking!

Spring break means spring has arrived. (& that my son got a week off from school) <help!> T o celebrate and to get some much needed adult time, I went out for dinner with friends.  I also wanted to secretly take my new purse "out to town".  I mean, what better way to complete an outfit, than with a "spring-y" bag.   I paired this beautiful  top with jeans and nude ankle strap low block heels. (Also, I previously wore this top for my son's 5th birthday party ). The top can be worn off the shoulders or as a loser relaxed shoulder style. (As previously worn) It features bell sleeves and is a perfect transitional top. These shoes are slowly becoming one of my fave pair. I'm a big fan of the ankle strap heel look, and the fact that these have a low block heel make me very happy!  I also love that the heel features a cork look. Yellow is such a fun color for spring.  It will brighten up your look and day.  My top is a ...
