Current life and obsessions...

Six days into 2018 and I'm writing the first post of the year! Unfortunately I haven't been putting much content out.  Mostly because life and the holi-daze got in the way. But that's no excuse, since this blog is about "life" at peonieshouse. The thing is, there hasn't been much "life" going on at Peonieshouse. (My closet on poshmark) I've been a bad reseller. Haven't listed or shared much of anything. I keep putting tasks on my to do list regarding my reselling business. Yet, none of them get checked off. Apparently I don't like money. (Sarcasm)

Here's a small recap of what's happened over here. If anyone cares to know. Jajaja I'll share that first & then I'll be sharing a few products I feel are the absolute perfect gifts. Yes I know Christmas is over. But gifts can be given year round. & these are very useful in my opinion. I kinda wish, I would have received these in my stocking! (Hint...hint)

Let me get started with the recap...
Life sure does like to test us. Amirite? We have three cars and for some reason they all decided to fail us. Not completely, but they did need some type of repair. Now you may say, why do we need three vehicles?... We don't, but none are "new" models. One is my honey's car, which he's worked on for a long time. The other is a car we got for me to use when our son was born. But it gave us trouble and we had it parked for a while; Until we invested on it and fixed it. By that time we had already purchased the one I drive now. I didn't want to sell the second car, since we invested on it. & so we kept it for the husband to use as an off road type vehicle. Since they aren't "new" models they're obviously going to need more maintenance than newer car models. *sigh*

Between that and our son being sick constantly since mid September. Poor thing has caught pink eye, bronchitis, strep, and a stomach bug.  Stress levels were definitely high around here. Also dealing with my mother's health issues. (Which I really don't want to get in on that, on this post)

I'm really hoping my son's immune system gets stronger soon. School stars again on Monday and we (mostly him), need a break from being sick.

I'll be starting school in 2 weeks. my last class before I get my Associates degree! & tranfer to a University! Which definitely scares me.

I really need to get myself together and work harder on the business because I really want to move asap!!!

Enough of my life... Here are the products that I am currently obsessing over.

First are these Elf brush cleanser wipes. There are 10 individual packs in the box and they are alcohol free!  If there's one thing I have been terrible at doing, it's washing my makeup brushes. I don't wear makeup daily and I don't buy expensive brushes. I love these wet n wild brushes. Or these elf brushes. Both work for my routine, since I'm not a makeup genius.
I have been buying my cheap brushes, instead of washing them!!! There's my first confession of the year!
The box of the brush cleanser wipes costs $3 which makes each wipe .30 cents. That's a price I'm willing to pay to lengthen  the time between washes. Also you can clean multiple brushes with one wipe.

This product I have been using for some time now. In my opinion, it's not only practical but also a thoughtful product to give to anyone. (Who uses jewelry)
It is a jewelry cleanser cloth! These are available for silver or gold jewelry. I have tried the silver cloth and it takes the tarnish off and leaves my necklaces shiny. Find the silver one here. Or both sets here.

Third product, I have not tested yet. But is definitely on my wishlist for the spring. It is a foot mask called baby feet. From what I've heard and read, these foot masks will make your feet peel off after 2 weeks of using them. The dead skin will peel off. Leaving your feet new, like baby feet. I can't wait to try before spring.

Shop for these foot masks here.

Lastly, this is kind of silly but I don't have one and need one. A pocket mirror! You can never go wrong with a pocket mirror. May sound vein to some people. But I don't want to walk around with a booger in my nose, or my lipstick smeared. I found these I included below.

Glittery compact mirror from Etsy. Shop for it here.

That concludes the products I'm currently obsessing over and the recap of the crazy life we're living over here. I will try, try to be more exciting in hopes of being able to  produce more content.
Sometimes real life can feel like a whirlwind but is just plain and boring for others.

Thank You for reading my thoughts and let me know your thoughts on the products listed above.
XOXO,
Carla

Getting comfortable in my own skin...

This year I will be turning 30!!! Where and how that happened? I have no idea,,, What I do know, is that it has taken me a very long time to accept myself.  As a matter of fact, I'm currently still working on it.  Through the years I have struggled with learning to love myself.  Never completely content with my appearance.  Whether it was my teeth, face, features, body.  You name it!  In the past I have even contemplated getting surgery. What stopped me? The money of course! As well as the scary stories told by friends.  Which often times they hear from others.  Postpartum, I suffered from weight gain.  It took me years to loose the weight.  Even then, my body is not perfect.  Does that define me? Do my looks define me? Of course NOT! I know that; However that doesn't change the fact that I obsess over my weight, and constantly weigh myself. My point with all this rambling is, that it's never too late to learn to LOVE ...

Play! By Sephora September box...

This is a really late post/review for my Play! By Sephora box. I apologize but I have been swamped. School & life have been getting in the way. Adulting... amirite?(insert side eye) My first box arrived September 16. The second box arrived October 17. (I will be uploading the October box in a separate post) September box review: I was excited to open it, even though it's not an actual mystery box. (I also saw many posts spoiling the box contents) My favorite product is the perfume sample (of course, since I'm currently obsessed with perfume samples) check my searching for the perfect scent post here . The Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumnizing Fiber Gel is also something fun for me to try. Since my eyebrows are light & thin. This is definitely a product I could be interested on in the future. All in all, I was content with the box. Although I'm starting to think that I may only keep the subscription for 2 more months. I'm not entirely sure yet. We shal...

Florals for spring, groundbreaking!

Spring break means spring has arrived. (& that my son got a week off from school) <help!> T o celebrate and to get some much needed adult time, I went out for dinner with friends.  I also wanted to secretly take my new purse "out to town".  I mean, what better way to complete an outfit, than with a "spring-y" bag.   I paired this beautiful  top with jeans and nude ankle strap low block heels. (Also, I previously wore this top for my son's 5th birthday party ). The top can be worn off the shoulders or as a loser relaxed shoulder style. (As previously worn) It features bell sleeves and is a perfect transitional top. These shoes are slowly becoming one of my fave pair. I'm a big fan of the ankle strap heel look, and the fact that these have a low block heel make me very happy!  I also love that the heel features a cork look. Yellow is such a fun color for spring.  It will brighten up your look and day.  My top is a ...
