Birthday celebration and outfit...

My husband turned 32 yesterday and we had a blast celebrating him. We ate good food and celebrated the three of us together.

He is currently my photographer & so far has been a good sport about it.

I wore a strappy cami and jeans with my black patent booties.  Booties are Christian Siriano for Payless. I had been looking for a pointy boot with low heel for some time. I actually wanted the low heel pointy sock boot style. (Unfortunately I did not find any in my budget) I settled for these when I found them online. & Once I picked them up in store, I fell in love! They can be styled with jeans and dresses. I love that versatility and kitten heel! I also got the same bootie in white. I wore those for our anniversary celebration. Check that post and see how I styled them.

My lipstick is wet n wild megaslicks balm stain in "A stiff pink" shade #127.

Jacket is Gap. I love the over sized jean jacket look. Best of all I love that I scored this $180 jacket for only $13! Frugal shopping at it's finest!

Thank you so much for reading my thoughts.
Xoxo,
Carla

Getting comfortable in my own skin...

This year I will be turning 30!!! Where and how that happened? I have no idea,,, What I do know, is that it has taken me a very long time to accept myself.  As a matter of fact, I'm currently still working on it.  Through the years I have struggled with learning to love myself.  Never completely content with my appearance.  Whether it was my teeth, face, features, body.  You name it!  In the past I have even contemplated getting surgery. What stopped me? The money of course! As well as the scary stories told by friends.  Which often times they hear from others.  Postpartum, I suffered from weight gain.  It took me years to loose the weight.  Even then, my body is not perfect.  Does that define me? Do my looks define me? Of course NOT! I know that; However that doesn't change the fact that I obsess over my weight, and constantly weigh myself. My point with all this rambling is, that it's never too late to learn to LOVE ...

All I do is win, win, win no matter what....

Adulting isn't easy...

Being an adult isn't easy... How many of us have heard these two words before?... Adulting sucks... My thoughts on "adulting" are the following. Not everything about being an adult is bad or "sucks". & when times are tough, it won't last forever. But for the most part, there are many times an adult can feel more than defeated. I have had my share of moments; Moments when I am exhausted.   Exhausted of having to deal with all these things. Things I had no clue about when I was a kid or teen.     I constantly find myself questioning why I was never told about what it's really like to grow up. What it's really like to be an adult.  I feel that to be considered a real adult. One should be living on their own and paying for rent and bills. We all know that when we live with our parents, (for the most part) we have all their support. Economically speaking.  Even if you are working, you can count on them to help you. If you're short o...
