Dinner with friends and outfit...

A few weeks ago I went out to dinner with friends; We were celebrating a birthday for our good friend. This specific friend (let's just call her E) could be my mother.  At one point, she was my boss. Which proves that friendships have no age limits.  She gives great advice and always has wonderful stories to share.

My son & friends. E on the right.

Nutella calzone

Affogato to end the night.

On to my outfit... I recently found these amazing overall jeans at Marshalls for $10!!! Yes! Ten dollars! Have I mentioned I love frugal shopping?!?!
I wore my overall jeans with this h&m mock neck top and ankle strap sandals. It was a bit chilly so I added my striped navy blazer.

Featuring my new haircut...
Shop these similar overalls here.
Shop this blazer here on eBay! Support small businesses. (It's J Crew, go buy it before it's gone!)
These are a similar style to the shoes I wore. (I apologize for not getting a full outfit shot)

Shop these shoes here.

I also want to share these gifts I made for my sweet friends, since I love giving gifts!  Just a small token of appreciation.  These boxes are from Target. I scored these during Christmas clearance years ago! I have a clearance addiction, but we'll leave that for another post.  I added the paper shreds to give them a boutique feel.  The cute candles are from dollar tree.  Who would've thought...amirite... Cadbury chocolate bars and a soap wrapped up in kraft paper. The soaps came in sets; I found them at Ross and they were clearance as well! A little pampering gift to show them my love.

Thank you for reading my thoughts.
Xoxo,
Carla

Getting comfortable in my own skin...

This year I will be turning 30!!! Where and how that happened? I have no idea,,, What I do know, is that it has taken me a very long time to accept myself.  As a matter of fact, I'm currently still working on it.  Through the years I have struggled with learning to love myself.  Never completely content with my appearance.  Whether it was my teeth, face, features, body.  You name it!  In the past I have even contemplated getting surgery. What stopped me? The money of course! As well as the scary stories told by friends.  Which often times they hear from others.  Postpartum, I suffered from weight gain.  It took me years to loose the weight.  Even then, my body is not perfect.  Does that define me? Do my looks define me? Of course NOT! I know that; However that doesn't change the fact that I obsess over my weight, and constantly weigh myself. My point with all this rambling is, that it's never too late to learn to LOVE ...

Adulting isn't easy...

Being an adult isn't easy... How many of us have heard these two words before?... Adulting sucks... My thoughts on "adulting" are the following. Not everything about being an adult is bad or "sucks". & when times are tough, it won't last forever. But for the most part, there are many times an adult can feel more than defeated. I have had my share of moments; Moments when I am exhausted.   Exhausted of having to deal with all these things. Things I had no clue about when I was a kid or teen.     I constantly find myself questioning why I was never told about what it's really like to grow up. What it's really like to be an adult.  I feel that to be considered a real adult. One should be living on their own and paying for rent and bills. We all know that when we live with our parents, (for the most part) we have all their support. Economically speaking.  Even if you are working, you can count on them to help you. If you're short o...
